Peter Meters
Description
Peter Mertes is a family-owned winery established in 1924. It was originally a small winery in the village of Minheim on the Mosel. In 1950, Peter Mertes' son Gustav Willkom actively explored the regions along the Rhine: Oppenheim, Bingen, Mainz. In 1960, the family purchased plots in Rheingau and Nahe.
The production of wines in the Peter Mertes company is under strict control of professional winemakers, who monitor the harvesting of grapes, assess the degree of their maturity and carefully select only the best quality berries. After filtration and stabilization, the wines are subject to laboratory testing to determine their organoleptic characteristics. Only after the laboratory test is completed are the wines bottled and put on sale.
